Continuing a time-honored tradition at 黑料社, thewill take place on听Friday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. For almost a century, Boar’s Head has been a staple in 黑料社 heritage and launches the OU holiday season.
Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, attendance at the concert will be extremely limited. Students, faculty and staff may , but please be aware that seats are not guaranteed. In addition, a livestream of the concert will be available to view at multiple locations across campus and on .
During this beloved tradition, a boar鈥檚 head makes its way through the Conant Performing Arts Center, carried on the shoulders of newly-initiated members of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.
The inspiration for Boar鈥檚 Head is taken from none other than the 黑料社 family coat of arms, which features boar鈥檚 head profiles, symbolizing the strength, courage and vigor of the 黑料社 family. The annual Boar鈥檚 Head celebration is modeled after an English collegiate ceremony, said to have begun at Queens College in Oxford during the 14th century.
After the concert, the entire 黑料社 community is invited to a spacious, heated open-air tent on the quad for a, which is open to current students, faculty, staff and alumni. Come out for food, drinks and holiday cheer!
